ABOUT SPJ Sadhana School
SPJ Sadhana School revolves around special kids with as many as 27 kinds
of disabilities with varying levels of retardation from mild to profound. In fact
we are the only school in India where we educate those who are profoundly retarded.
How are our special kids made to feel extra special at SPJ Sadhana? They are warmly accepted and loved in every way possible within the school. Our key bricklayers are our wonderful devoted teachers to whom giving comes naturally and who nurture encourage & inspire the students. They recognize the potential of each child & bring it to the forefront.
The “Training of Teachers” as we call it, helps every teacher not to merely follow a regulated curriculum, but to constantly evolve out-of-the-box strategies & innovative ideas that are varied based on the ability of the student. This brings out the holistic evolution of every child. The school has 2 distinct & special programs devised to open up a world of opportunity of students one is a formative year’s course & we also have 5 year polytechnic courses.

Five years ago we had an army officer. He did not march into the school but came in with deep concern & doubt carrying a special child in his arms. The child had 16 fits a day, a child with physical & mental disability with a metabolic disorder. Today Sardar Raminder Singh runs a successful cyber cafe in Chandigarh & even drives his own scooter adapted to his physical needs.
This is just one among hundreds of success stories. And this gives us the impetus to take on more students, to change more lives, create more opportunities.
